Direct Financial Assistance with Medical Bills: Some hospitals and medical clinics have financial assistance programs for patients who do not have medical insurance. WA State DSHS also has emergency coverage for some clients. We can help you find out more about possible options for paying unexpected medical bills, and assist you with filling out necessary applications.
Counseling & Mental Health Support:
SJIFRC’s Community Wellness Program provides low cost access to mental health services and assistance in applying for health insurance. San Juan Island residents who are uninsured or who have high insurance deductibles may apply for this program. If approved, program participants can receive up to twelve counseling sessions for a sliding scale co-pay of $5 – $30 per session.
Prescription Assistance Program:
If you are uninsured and have no way to pay for prescription medication, our Prescription Assistance Program may be able to provide one-time emergency assistance paying for a prescription. Our program can also help you find low-cost prescription medication programs if your medication needs to be taken on a long-term basis.
